Cain and Abel each brought a gift to God.
God reacted differently to the two gifts. Why?
I believe the reason the two gift received different receptions is that they were two different types of gifts.
Cain brought an offering; what he felt like giving. His brother, Abel, brought the firstlings of his flock; the first
fruits—without being told. Cain brought an offering which may not have been very important to him, but Abel honored
God with his firstlings.
